Star Wars: Old Republic Knights is said to be reworked at Aspyr Media, which brought the original game to iOS.
Jason Schreier from Bloomberg reported that a remake of the 2003 classic Star Wars game was still being developed during an interview with MinnMax. Schreier clearly says, “Yes, there’s something.” After a light prodding from MinnMax’s Ben Hanson.
Schreier reveals later in the interview that he had previously teased, that the studio that is responsible for the KOTOR remake is Aspyr Media. After being asked to clarify if “anyone other but EA makes a KOTOR remake,” Schreier says that it is true.”
“I confirmed in general that Aspyr, the organisation that has brought a bunch of KOTOR games, works on a remake,” said Schreier.
As noted, there have been talks of a KOTOR remake for some time now, but it is the clearest indication that a particular studio is moving forward. Of course, Schreier did not elaborate on his knowledge of this initiative, and whether he is referring to a comprehensive ground-up remaster or more is yet to be seen. However, it is probably enough that this news alone will be more than exciting to Star Wars fans.
